Custom blades flicked, stainless exhaust pipes sparkled and combs greased back locks, as the Low Riders moved in on the Customs turf.

Hot mamas pushed their leather clad boys into scuffles with the Low Riders under a desperate envious M(.)(.)N as the territorial takeover ensued.

Slashed faces, sandwiched knuckles, chain whipped torsos and fisted machine metal did battle in the open air coliseum as anxious stilettos became bloodstained prizes.

Cedrics, Deuce Coupes and Hemi's fought the good fight, but, slowly, forced back into a dark corner of the lowly garage, tires deflated, pumps exhausted and engines blown, the victors claimed their silky prizes.

Fearful of being sold as Low Rider scrap, the customs banned together with their two-wheeled brethren to do final battle!

With the Banzai Hootenanny raging in the backdrop, race lines edged to and fro, as teams of slicked back grease charged through red lights uninhibited.

Finally, the death of Justine laid all in somber reminiscence of past and future, with mutual respect achieved, and an agreed upon territorial division, now, hopefully, the garage of futures past will live in solace and with the admiration of building one from the other.

It made absolutely no sense, that earplugs and gas masks would be standard issue upon entering Heavysick on the night I would see my good friend from Australia . . . , who had come to Tokyo for a one night off gig with a Japanese backing band.

I did however find it even stranger that several Dirtrucks were backed up to the service door of the venue off loading massive eight cylinder Detroit Muscle action power units, that were being wheeled inside.

"Hell Yeah!" was my first reaction. A bona fide mini hotrod show to go along with some high octane rock and roll!!

But, the masks?! Damo MC (my good mate from down under) was the headliner . . .

The room dark . . . , the stage unlit. A mechanical echoed voice comes over the house speakers . . . . "Don your masks! Don your masks!! Insert earplugs now! Insert earplugs NOW!! WWWWWOOOOOOHHHHHH! WWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHHHHH!!

THE REVS WERE HORRIFIC!! THREE MASSIVE MUSCLE CAR ENGINES ROARED FROM THE STAGE IN VARYING RYTHMS . . . . A FORD 390, A CHEVY 396, AND A MOPAR 440!!

God Ra's Solar Attack!

Earthdom being bombarded with magnetic solar flares cast upon them by God Ra, only heightened the calls to spread Heavy Metal Glue over surface of the planet in an attempt to capture and store the energy, to be returned in the form of impulse rays designed to counter the onslaught.

Taking center stage was the goddess of Eternal Elysium, who inhaled the bovril masses to guard them from the toxic Heavy Metal Glue scorching the green planet, as the final measure was employed and the preservation of mankind took precedence.

Only the kuruucrew, who are immune to the toxic glue, would not emerge from the magnetic rays, as they slowly atomized into the quantum fields of light, dwindling to a final few, as the absorbent glue was laid over the planet.

As the Heavy Metal Glue glowed with the energy of infinitesimal atomic particles, blackening the crust beneath, the planets sphere was stretched a thousand miles here and there in waves of volcanic eruptions of gas and granite, molten and magma, fissures and cracks that forced the goddess to hovel, on the dark side, in the Church Of Misery.

As the magnetic flares of God Ra dissipated with increasing retreat, the boundless energy stored in the glue burst out from Earthdom, following the solar trail back to its source. Magnified in the trillions, the burst sealed the god of the White Heaven at its core, and there to remain until billions of light years have passed.

As we legged the sweeping case of stairs that dropped steeply into a punchbowl of bad boys high on grade school antics . . . , the only telling sign of sanity were the Hard-Ons roaming the proscenium.

Amplified poorly from the outset . . . , sound waves went forth without regard, as mastery of the pulsating instruments gushed the legacy built upon decades of sweat drenched arenas.

Felled to our knees, we were victims to the sonic sirens emanating from the rise beyond our sight . . . , and we prayed to the gods for deliverance from this battlefield of wounded hearts.

Bodies clashed amongst naked feats of hero worship, while tones of perfection graced the lengths of the auditory canals, exaggerated for purposes even the artist could hardly know.

No, not even Machiavelli would have attempted to foresee beyond the musical horizon of the three pillars of rock and roll . . . , and yet, with the treachery of Medea fresh in our memories, we gave of our souls with the promise of youth.

Spirited away in the chariot of the sun-god, the triumphant reign of the Hard-Ons exploded in firery waves of possessive movements, culminating in the death of a broken promise of love.

Hard-Ons are not for the delusional.

Incident: Santa Love Doll aka. Santa Claus arrested for appearing out of character
Location: Club HEAVYSICK, Tokyo, Japan

REPORT:

December 25
12:15 am
Children in the Hatagaya area of Tokyo reported being awaken by ruckus laughter in the early morning hours on Xmas day. Upon further inquiry, the children were confronted by a, "fat [scantily dressed] red man in dark sunglasses", who resembled Santa Claus, and, who the children described as "an almost naked Mrs. Claus". The suspect was apparently dispersing sexy gifts to the children (such as Bitch Attack eyelashes (see photo of evidence) and, stealing presents from under the Xmas trees addressed to mommy from daddy, and vis versa.

12:55 am
Other witnesses reported seeing a "Santa Love Doll character dressed in hot pants wearing a G-string and black stockings riding in his slay with a very sexy female claus", who they say was too young and sexily dressed to have been Mrs. Claus. Further, they complained that the couple appeared to be intoxicated while operating the slay, as there were some near misses when taking off and landing.

1:35 am
The suspects were then seen entering Club HEAVYSICK in the Hatagaya after double parking their slay in front of a pet shop. Witnesses report that the front door of the pet shop was jimmied open by the Claus characters, who then spread bags of dry dog food in the entrance of the shop in order to allow the reindeer to feed.

2:10 am
After further calls of complaints, two officers dressed in drag (to hide their identity), were sent to Club HEAVYSICK to investigate the couple.

2:25 am
Upon entering the club, Thee Bat Officers report that the couple were performing some sort of ritual act in front of a crowd of pleased onlookers. The Claus couple were dispersing the gifts they had gathered from the numerous houses they had violated under the guise of being Mr. & Mrs. Claus. (see photo evidence taken by the officers)

2:55 am
The couple were arrested, handcuffed and spanked before being taken to police head quarters for questioning. NOTE: The reindeer and slay were impounded and are currently on route to Inokashira Zoo.

3:10 am
Upon further inquiry into the incidents, and after questioning, the Santa Love Doll character happens to be thee real Santa Claus. However, his sexily clad accomplice is not Mrs. Claus, but, one MIWAROCK. Santa stated that he and Mrs. Claus have separated, and that due to the Eve of Xmas, he felt extremely lonely, had stopped off in Finland for a schnapps, ended up drinking a few too many, then arrived in Tokyo, where he crashed an office party, which is where he met MIWAROCK, who had been hired to perform at the Xmas party. Following her performance, Santa and Ms. Rock went back to her dressing room where he began a game of costume play. The two were last seen flying away from the party in Santa's slay in a drunken manor.

Mrs. Claus has been notified of the incident and has agreed to carry out Santa's duties in the remaining hours of Xmas morning. Ms. Rock has been released as to avoid any further embarrassment to Mrs. Claus. Meanwhile, Santa is being held in Japan for further questioning and will be arraigned on the 27th for breaking and entering, contributing to the delinquency of minors, operating a slay under the influence and for representing Santa in a sexy indecent manor!

Rockin' Twirls, Custom Curls & Hot Girls!

At 11:45 am, December 5th, 2010, Yokohama Japan was hit by a massive tsunami, the likes of which have not been recorded since the great temple that once housed the Amida Buddha of Kamakura was laid waste. Cars piled up and dragged along the pavement as squealing could be heard around every corner. Swarms of lathered pedestrians crowded any refuge from the salty blasts, as those less fortunate were stripped by the waves that flowed between the bare thighs, which quivered amongst high powered rumblings.

"Why this . . . Why now?!", was a common reflection on this Bitch Attack from the deep wet saline rich void. As Mother Nature spread her vacuous expanse, more went in than came out, as the throbbing range of tidal pools sucked in all that was desired. Jackie and the Cedrics took the high ground in an attempt to satisfy the cravenness appetite of the Goddess who will not be named. They beat upon their drums, and leapt from the mount in attempts sooth the all too powerful one.

As if caught in a dream dance, her thoughts distracted by the rhythms cast at her, the gushing torrents subsided, leaving a powder white misty glaze on the face of the city. Though subdued, this event, along with the great Amida Buddha stand as testimony to powers of this Goddess, who has on more than one occasion reminded humanity, that mere mortals are no match to her salty twirls and custom curls.

Now, some two weeks on, makeshift memorials mark the areas on which the all powerful Goddess sprayed her mightiest mists of misfortune. White salty patches that are being preserved and decorated with images conjured up in the imaginations of those who survived.

Some have painted personal reflections of the Goddess herself, which can be seen at the various sites throughout city, while others simply present the twisted metal wreckage of the machines that failed to take flight.

Fever Pitch Hits Free Market Crash

Tokyo Rockers cleaned out their nooks, crannies, closets and shoe boxes searching for the golden bullet to the top of the underground Free Market Crash that precluded an all out assault on communal harmony. Rockin' Punkers brought their molded straps and soiled treasures to lay bare on erected platforms so often equated with the offerings made to the flea market gods of the West.

A signed pair of Elvis' underwear was rumored to be on offer, though they never surfaced among the minion of guitar cases stuffed with the undergarments of the nights' acts. I personally had my mitts on a long red silky pair of cabaret stockings purportedly worn by one of the all too sexy Supersnazz members, though after further inquiry, they dropped from my clinging gloves when Super "Greg" Snazz lay claim to ownership. Yeah, sexy I guess . . . , but . . . ANYWAY . . .

Found among the offerings that documented the brief supremacy of the Nippon garage punk and roll underground were, a Teengenerate T-back here, a pair of Jackie & the Cedrics' &$#"$(# there! Must have had a good time in Spain!! A box of Thunder Roads chocolates with Jellybeans' on top, obviously rejected and put up for sale by a smoldering broken heart, a single rockabilly leopard skinned platform shoe, who the owner swore belonged to Mick Collins, and a tiger stripped leotard, which was priced at $2, but when my friend inquired as to the patron of ownership, no one would lay claim. My friend stuffed it in her bag for future ballet lessons.

When the Free Market Carnage had finally come to a head, the pints began to reverb from the stage. And, oh my, this was an ass kicking! Supersnazz are currently at their peak, which covers a twenty year climb to the pinnacle of their sound, that makes legendary those red cabaret stockings my friend (a Young Parisian) acquired from the free market offerings to the gods.

Further, when contemplating supreme triumph, this nights' punters' witnessed the crowning of thee supreme trio of Nippon garage rock, and those acclamations being so heartfully won by Sammy, Fifi and Fink, who are, were and always will be American Soul Spiders, Teengenerate, Raydios, Tweezers, Firestarter and beyond! They all out conquered this Free Market Crash and Burn: the likes of which one must truly travel East to bare witness.

Nikki Gorvette vs. Mothra vs. Godzilla

F.A.D.! Femme fatale A la Detroit! Sweet sweet sweaty smells of femme fatale could not be contained last night in Yokohama. Authorities were alerted as waves of tender rhythms broke into all out passionate inhibition. Chinatown has not witnessed such uncontrollable hysteria since Godzilla subdued Mothra, an event which scientists now suspect played a key roll in last nights mass love in.

Scientists have detected dispersed powdered female hormones most likely spread in Yokohama by Mothra in 1992. Once Mothras' latent hormone powders were whipped up and mixed with the provassive estrogen of the unsuspecting audience, the stompin' frenzy of the Gorvette punters soon spun out of control and into the wider Yokohama district, where the masses were overcome with sexual desires.

After analyzing evidence, authorities are leaning toward a theory that the high energy Detroit rock rhythms expounded at the show, released MC5 (Microbial Centrifugal 5), #5 of ten points that lay deep in the psyche, and a component of apparent force on the human body in curvilinear motion which leads to "f---ing in the streets". Also bafling to the Japanese intelligensia are the cravings amongst their masses for the Detroit sound.

Further, intelligence agencies most certainly suspect an attempted infiltration of the Japanese culture that aims to exact revenge for the demise of the Detroit industrial complex. The aim of the government is to contain with a firm hand the passions of their constituents, while corporate leaders are calling for an all out blockade of any imports originating from the Motor City.

In the wake of the mass release of sexually charged inhibition, the Japanese Government announced on national television, that it is considering the tough choice of summoning Godzilla to the Yokohama district, their quintessential defense, in an all out war to suppress the spread of the G.F.F.A. (Guitar Fueled Femme fatale Army).

Club owners however, insist that the rock n' roll expounded by Nikki Corvette simply and unintentionally raised the stakes in an on going debate over the value of relying on the protection of the island nation to remain in the authoritarian claws of Godzilla, who, while successful in eradicating suspected enemies, ultimately unleashes a trail of destruction. They suggest that a softer, more sensitive ally may lay with the estrogen laden Mothra and R.R.R. (Revolutionary Rockin' Revelations) bourn in the Motor City.

All toll, there's certain to be more made of last nights event than there truly is in reality, but facts remain, the silkily lathered leather jacketed Japanese rock and roll fans show no signs of tiring of their Motor City addiction, and to kicking out the jams A la Detroit style.

Holy Shlonk 'n' Jesus!!

As testimony to the slaughter, and witness to the last strings of control, I cowered as Jesus Shlonk scissored his tongue through the vulnerable necks of the unsuspecting punters, whose severed heads lay stacked in the vaulted gallery within the upper chambers of Moon Step haunt, where they are kept as play things for the teasing whip of mS. RIACO.

Once touted for his powers to elude the gaze of all, the Invisible Man was destined to be judged under the bludgeoning eye of Jesus Shlonk in another of Ed Woods gruesome tales of two fisted scum punk! Slashed in the face by a twenty minute set that drove the blind deaf to the vomiting howls of destruction, the last wills of severed heads dimmed with their fingers grasping the red slicked floor to screams of bloody mercy rising from the claws of Jesus Shlonk.

Nails dripping with the blood of rock and roll innocents prayed for the Apocalyptic challenge of any savior within howling distance, but there was no heed to the call on this Halloween eve, as the massacre perpetrated by Shlonk left the black dungeon red and littered with the headless carcasses of unsuspecting merrymakers. "Wanna try? hahaha" he screeched, as the spared piled for the safety of the hallow city streets.

The Mummies Announce Mummification Plans

After an historic Tokyo performance by the Mummies at the Halloween Ball 2009, on the 20th Anniversary of Back From The Grave, members of the legendary outfit from San Bruno, CA. announced plans to mummify their Mummy remains. Under an apparent signed agreement by all current band members, their management will seek the expert advice of a practicing mummification embalmer in order to formalize agreements of embalming to take place upon each members death.

Their Tokyo fans cheered the news as a large Canopic jar was placed in the center of the audience for the collection of donations to help the band proceed with their plans. Over $1000 was collected, and free mummified recordings were given to contributors as offerings.

The Mummies members are leaving Tokyo Monday morning for Cairo, where they plan to use the donations to purchase four Canopic jars for each member, which will be stored with an embalmer in Egypt. The band also stated that strict adherence to traditional symbolism on the jars will be followed. However, they reserved the right to choose their preferred artist, who they quickly declared to be Rockin' Jellybean, who has agreed to travel to Egypt some time next year for the ceremonial painting of the Canopic jars.

Upon the return of each members remains to Egypt, a two month mummification process will take place. Each body will be stripped and placed on a board, at which time the brain will be extracted through the nose. The brain cavity will be filled with a combination of linen and resin. Their chests will be cut opened and with the exception of the heart, the organs removed and stored in the four Canopic jars, representing the four sons of Horus. Their body cavities will be washed and packed with natron for 40 days, after which they are dried, sewn back together and sealed with wax, and then cleaned and wrapped in a very thick layer of linen.

In an interview following the Halloween Ball, the Mummies members told this reporter of further plans to begin construction of a four story pyramid on land they had purchased four miles west of the Cairo city limits in the desert. They admitted however, that official building permits had not yet been approved, but that they were unconcerned, as proper authorities had been paid in order to gain written permission.

Overwhelmed by the onslaught, Tokyo punters looked upon their sold out tickets in a holy new light, and word circulated that a garage rock pilgrimage to the future Egyptian site will commence upon the first death of any member of the Mummies.

Of Rock And Roll Legends

Rockers often climb from beneath heaps of uniform codes and rigid control mechanisms, that for various explainable reasons make absolutely no sense at all, and thus, cannot be followed due to a desire or drive to think as independent Beings. Such challenges to excepted logic and potentially corrupting influences perpetuated through so-called normal culture come in the form of artistic expression . . . , and in this case, rock and roll.
When compared with other professions, where individuals might gain the status of legend, I would argue that rockers are more inclined to be empathetic and humane within their status. Of course, we're all on this highway to hell regardless of any illusions we might employ in our attempts to escape our living hells unharmed, while at the same time leaving Earth in a heap of shit, which to a Dung Beetle is a necessity of life, teaching us, that rolling our shit into harmless art forms, may likely be the most positive task at hand.
Such artists often gain legendary status which is not earned through name or artistic ability alone, but further inspired by character that reflects an ascent to the top, and which positively reflects on all the shitty baggage encountered along that ascent, which if interpreted wisely, often pied-pipes us down an introspective road to artistic reality.
For my two cents, the most humbling and respectable qualities of many aged and aging rockers are two values, the first being [not to harm], and the second being [gratitude]. That is not to say that those who cannot achieve such wisdom or control aren't brilliantly tuned to what they do, but that one should be skeptical of a character that leaves others searching for something positive to grasp in order to validate their given status as legend, which they may now or might somewhere down the line hold.
While working with The Dogs over the past fourteen years, I have discovered the model of how rockers can age, and can positively influence the world, making it a better place to rock and roll with the punches that we all face in our daily lives. More over, after videotaping nearly fifteen-hundred bands in as many years divided by one-hundred, and having met most of those bands, I can attest to the fact that not all aging rockers are able to transcend the juvenile delinquency, teenage angst and irritated longing that gives rise to their art, their underlying characters and, possible status as legends. However, most of the rockers I have met over the past thirty odd years do display an amazing selflessness that comes with experience, wisdom and awareness of self.
We all own our personal angst and the energy it creates, and perhaps we simply look to art and artists for validation, inspiration, community and communion to justify and share our angst. In the end, it is how successful we are at rolling our angst into positive balls of art, like the Dung Beetle, which gives us the possibility of becoming artistic legends of substance, which in turn may inspire others to achieve a wiser understanding of self.
Why? Because fans, like artists, look to art for a myriad of cultural inspirations: inspirations that can enlighten the realities, the roots and origins of characters that produce art, and which influence for the positive . . . , while angst ridden negativity in turn, delivers a destructive message that can leave a generation blank, the results from which, humans may not recover.
The goal of such an ascendency is not to throw away or negate the angst that drives many of us to express ourselves, but, to gain understanding of self, and grow more powerful within our angst as we nurture and reflect upon our characters in order to share ever increasing substance with a greater and greater audience . . . , artistically, positively, and perhaps, as rock and roll legends.

Fussa, Japan was hit by an Abnormal stealth bomb last Saturday nite! Club Eddie's was destroyed in a firestorm of rock 'n' killroy when thee Comi took the stage following the Saturn invaders outside the American military base, which rose from the ashes of the Vietnam war to breed a hybrid English speaking Japanese, who still follow the credence of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll!

Comi crawled from the inferno in resonating fury to strike back at the grunts occupying the proscenium, thus exstinguishing howls of hail to the chief. In an onslaught unseen since the battle of Iwa jima, guitars bayonetted the front lines, eardrums burst from bomb blasts of bass riffs strafing the riotous trenches descending into hand to hand combat rock. Insignia of sculls and crossbones lay waste to an unsuspecting garage corp infantry.

Mopping up the flailing bodies beaten with Murochin sticks of obedience commanded an allegiance to a new flag, that of the Abnormals, on this day of our new lord and provider, the pirates guide and purveyor of all that shakes the ass of those who truly believe in the force of rock and roll: the twenty fifth day in the month of our Caesar, Julius, MMIX.

Gories, Oblivians, Brother Cartright, Brother James
and Barbiturate Heaven!!

Back in the Motor City after a ten year hiatus in Tokyo, mission one upon landing . . . get Gories/Oblivians tickets! Mission two . . . get stoned . . .and I nearly did, when I made a case for the "Not god bless America, but, goddamn America" statement, and, offered a reasoned argument defending Bill Ayers: well, it was nice to see the family anyway.

But, more importantly, The Gories/Oblivians! Got my pass to the show of the year at the rockin' Majestic Theater on Woodward two weeks in advance, and thank Nietzsche, because it sold out within days. Following The Dogs "Rustbelt Tour" the previous week, getting my SRB album signed by Scott Morgan, and finally getting stoned, what more could a philosophical beat rocker ask for? On top of that, the master heartstring puller himself, Brother Greg Cartwright gathered his disciples on the Garden deck the next day.

I'm not going to review any of these shows, because there is nothing to say. If you were in Detroit and didn't attend these shows, well, you must have the best damn excuse or lie or something, and/or you don't have a clue (probably because you're still stuck on 80's hair bands . . . but don't get me wrong, I luv my family!). If you were one of the well informed, and made the shows, well . . . we still might be stupid human tricks, but, at least we grasped something righteous and worthy.

DOGGY STYLE TRIBUTE CD SET IS HERE

Before John Lennon had penned "John Sinclair" as a protest against the political imprisonment of Mr. Sinclair, The Dogs had written their own now famous rallying cry titled, “John Rock and Roll Sinclair”. The Dogs walked, and continue to walk arm in arm with their brothers and sisters in the struggles of the past and present. Following the demise of the revolution, The Dogs left Michigan to become cofounders of the punk movements in New York and L.A.

The Dogs' "Fed Up" and "Slash Your Face" are recognized as seminal songs of the punk era. From playing gigs with the MC5 to the Ramones, The Dogs were and are one of the most respected bands of the rock era. All who listen recognize the purity of The Dogs spirit, and the uniqueness of their masterful simplicity, which is powerful, poetic and "strong like a Viet Cong".

For this reason, Future Now Records has released 'The Dogs Tribute . . . Doggy Style'. After videotaping The Dogs reunion gig in L.A. in 2001 (which will be released on DVD in Spring 2009, and is titled 'Doggy Days . . . 'The Dogs live L.A. to Tokyo', work on the tribute began by asking some of the greatest garage, rock and hardcore bands to go into the studio to record the classic Dogs songs.

The goal was to compile premium quality recordings with a package that would go above and beyond the major labels. Punk goes to The Dogs

The last time a gang of degenerate Detroit punks came to Japan, they sparked a near riot, with thousands of fans storming the stage. That was at the Fuji Rock Festival this summer, and those responsible were the re-formed Stooges.

"I can't promise a riot," says 10-year resident of Japan Jack Waldron of the upcoming shows he has organized by The Stooges' Detroit brethren, The Dogs. "But I can promise some kick-ass energy and righteous attitude."

A power trio comprising Loren Molinaire, Mary Kay and Ron Wood (no, not that one), The Dogs formed in Lansing, Michigan in 1969, two years after Iggy Pop's Stooges.

Like MC5, with whom they have played, The Dogs' politics were as important as their music. Before John Lennon wrote his tribute, they penned "John Rock & Roll Sinclair" in homage to the poet-provocateur sentenced to 10 years in prison for giving two joints to undercover narcs.

Later, The Dogs left Michigan, and became instrumental in the punk movements of Los Angeles and New York, where they played with The Ramones.

"The first time I heard The Dogs was in 1995," says Waldron. "It shook my Detroit gut so hard."

So hard, in fact, that Waldron tracked the band down and has now put together "Doggy Style," a 28-track tribute album on his own Future Now Records label that's made up of underground Japanese punk, garage and hardcore acts. Among the local artists covering Dogs tracks are Boris, Melt-Banana, Mad 3, Gimmies and Jackie & The Cedrics (whose member Rockin' Jellybean designed the album's artwork).
